    Hello,

We use Date Selectors in our forms for expiration dates, manufactured dates, etc.. and then apply calculations like time-based math to enforce certain rules. We are getting feedback from users that it is time consuming select the day, month, and year with a pull down. Is it possible to use a Text field for date entry such that the date can be filled in manually (for example DD/MM/YYYY and still be able to use the time-based math? I am wondering if anyone in the community has experience or best practices in this area?

    Thanks!

    Hi Tad,

Unfortunately our time based math calculations require consistent formatting. It's for that reason that we do not currently allow manual entry of text into the data/time question type. During development we decided to leverage the device's native date selector as we felt end-users would be most familiar and comfortable with that method of data entry. While you cannot at this time type in the date manually if you have this data available in a data source you should be able to pre-populate the data for the techs to save them some clicks and time in the field. The data source would need to be formatted correctly with a consistent date format but it would be possible.
