    Hello,

on  this resource page I have read the following:

    Other types of attachment-based questions

We ignore references to the bytes property for Audio Recording, Document Editor, and File Upload answers. <madcap:conditionaltext data-mc-conditions="SnippetConditions.Handlebars">This prevents document generation errors when using Handlebars templates.</madcap:conditionaltext>

Does it mean that if I add a File Upload question that can contain several files, all the pages of those files cannot be printed on a document? Do they need to be viewed or printed separately from the document?

If not, which is the handlebars code to do it? I do not see any examples.

If yes, does the possibility of merging the document with its attachments exists? Sort of like merging several pdfs together into one.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Alicia,

Thank you so much for your questions. I'm going to update the documentation to make this clearer.

    1. You are correct that you cannot print uploaded files from a File Upload question on a PDF document.
    2. I'm currently researching whether you can include links to an uploaded file in a Handlebars template. I'll get back to you with the details.
    3. Our current functionality does not support merging of PDFs.

Could you please let us know the end result that you're trying to achieve with your file uploads?

    Best regards,

    Karen

    Hi again,

For item 2, adding links in a document to an uploaded file (accessed in the web portal), you can do this in a Standard PDF document but not in a Handlebars or FreeMarker template. We're considering how to make this possible, and we'll update our Handlebars and FreeMarker documentation with examples once it's working.

This topic describes how attachments work in a Standard document, just for reference.

I hope that helps, and thanks again for your questions!

    Karen
