Each business is different, there are certain requirements that are needed for a business to operate optimally. Many customers utilize our custom documents to ensure their documents reflect their business and ensure it's a seamless experience for their customers. With custom documents, you'll be able to create your own branded documents tailored to your business requirements.

We have self-service options that are currently available in our environments when it comes to creating custom documents. However, if you feel like building your own custom document is overwhelming or you do not have the bandwidth to embark in this process, our Professional Services Team can help create, test, and maintain your custom documents. The cost for a custom document design is a one-time charge to get the process initiated and our Professional Services Team will be able to recreate your document within our environment. This is an iterative and collaborative process, we're here to support and ensure your document is ready for deployment. One thing to keep in mind is that these documents would be locked from editing, any further edits will require our Professional Services Team to be involved and these subsequent engagements would incur a cost each time.

Here is an example of a custom document our Professional Services Team were able to build:

If you have a custom document you'd like us to help with, please contact your Customer Success Manager and Account Executive to kickstart the process!

In order to build your own custom document, you'll need to know how to use HTML, CSS, DREL, Handlebars, or FreeMarker.

    How To Get Started

To get started in building your own custom document, head over to the Custom Document Editor. Select which document you'd like to customize and under the Formatting tab, select Custom. The next step is to start coding either through HTML, CSS, DREL, Handlebars, or FreeMarker.

Note: when building the first iteration of your document, click on 'Preview as HTML' to ensure your document is showing as expected.

Another option is our Custom Excel Document, you'll be able to build and design a custom document using Excel. Utilize DREL to reference your form questions in your Excel file and answers will populate accordingly. Additionally, we have an existing community post which covers how to convert a custom Excel document into PDF via Power Automate - Automatically Convert XLSX Submission Documents to PDF Using Power Automate.

Note: If you no longer require a custom document, you can always revert back to our Standard Document Layout. In your Custom Document Editor, click on 'Standard' to enable our standard output. Before you revert back to a standard output, please keep in mind you will lose all of your customizations. We recommend copying your code in case you decide to use custom documents in the future.
