    Hello,

We have been working on integrations between TrueContext and Salesforce in particular and we noticed we can send over to Salesforce images and attachments in general, but not retrieving them afterwards. Similar to REST API, where we can send out, but there is no option to bring images in.

Is there any option to fulfill this requirement? Meaning, to allow image controls to select from data sources.

Resources would not work, because images are dynamic and imported by users.

    Thanks

    Hey Andre,

Thanks for posting your question in the community.

Are you able to provide more detail surrounding the use case?

Once we have more detail we'll be able to speak better to a potential solution.

    Hi Nick,

Not being particular in customer requirements, one situation could be if many systems save information into an external system, and then TrueContext is requested to load the information from there and allow edits.

Example: Parts inspection/QA where the external system has pictures/attachments on the original condition of parts and the user should inspect the Parts again, comparing current condition with previous pictures and then to take new pictures on the current parts condition. Note the external system could have new information not coming necessarily from TrueContext, meaning, the form dispatch/edit is not an option.

In this case, TrueContext allows destinations to send out files/attachments. Unfortunately, it does not allow images/attachments to load from data sources.

The ideal option would be to have a built-in base64 conversion, meaning, the external system would have to serialize images/attachments into base64 and then the image/attachment questions in TrueContext to allow base64 import from data sources.

To be complete, also allowing destination to serialize into base64 would be full circle (save and load).

    Thanks,

    Hey Andre,

When a user submits a form, both the standard JSON generated and the JSON document can embed images and file attachments in base64.

Our  REST API does allow you to dispatch a form to a user and it supports image and file upload question controls. So if you have a workflow that requires a user receives a form with images and files pre-attached you could leverage the REST API to accomplish this.

There's currently no functionality that allows you to store images or files in a data source that would populate from a push to answer but we'll be sure to create a product feedback request for the product team to review.

If you'd like to, I'd be more than happy to setup a call where we could have further discussions about how you could leverage our REST API with some of your workflows.

    Let me know.
